Bryce Johnson, coming in as a pinch-hitter for Tatis, capped the offensive display with a two-run homer in the eighth for his first of the season.
Manny Machado contributed a two-run single in the fourth inning, while Ramón Laureano broke the game open with a two-run double, both off reliever Antonio Senzatela.
Fernando Tatis Jr.'s two-run home run in the second inning put the Padres ahead 3-1, setting the tone for the offensive explosion. It was his fifth home run of the season against the Rockies.
Manny Machado reached 25 home runs for the fifth straight season, highlighting his consistent power production.
