Alongside Hernández's multi-homer night, Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts also contributed with home runs, helping to extend the Dodgers’ lead in the National League West division to two games over the San Diego Padres.
Dodgers starting pitcher Emmet Sheehan was nearly flawless, retiring the first 15 batters he faced. His streak was broken in the sixth inning when Kyle Karros singled. Kyle Karros, son of former Dodgers star Eric Karros, broke up Sheehan’s perfect game bid with a single in the sixth inning. Tyler Freeman was responsible for driving in the Rockies’ only earned run of the contest.
