NEW YORK -- The Chicago Cubs defeated the New York Yankees 5-2 on Saturday, snapping the Yankees' five-game winning streak. The game featured a matchup of All-Star left-handers, but the Yankees' Max Fried left early due to a blister on his pitching hand.

The Cubs offense started early. Nico Hoerner tripled to lead off the game and scored on a groundout by Kyle Tucker. In the third inning, Carson Kelly and Ian Happ hit run-scoring singles, separated by an RBI grounder from Dansby Swanson.
