In the bottom of the ninth inning with the bases loaded, Twins reliever Mike Morin hit former teammate Mike Trout with a pitch, which forced in a run for the Angels. Morin then retired Shohei Ohtani on a groundout to end the game and preserve the Twins' narrow lead.
